I visited it first time and was amazed at the extensive vegetarian dishes on the menu. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were very friendly. They went out of their way to explain all the different dishes on the menu. The prices were cheap and you can bring your own drinks as well coz they don't serve alcohol. Will definitely visit again.

Amazing vegetarian restaurant. The curries are mouth watering. They cater for vegans and 99% of the menu is suitable for vegans. The staff are friendly and the decor is ok. The prices are very reasonable. I would like to visit it as often as possible.

I have been a regular at VFS for some time and i cant say a bad word about it. Staff are so friendly and food is always good. Only problem is that i love the Thali so much and it is such good value i always order it and therefore dont get the chance to taste other good things here!!!!!

Having just moved back to Cardiff after several years living in London and overseas, I had been desperately disappointed by the mediocre restaurants in this city. Food is 'Welshified' and rarely authentic, so I had extremely low expectations when this place was recommended. I am VERY fussy about food, and will complain if it isn't up to scratch.
Well, in short, the food in this place is exquisite. I have not tasted such lovely Indian food in the UK, apart from at 'Chutneys' in Drummond Steet, Euston, London. You can tell that the Vegetarian Food Studio place is quite a 'find' and that once discovered people will return over and over again. I will be one of them, and intend to use its takeaway service too.
My tofu and spinach curry was sensational, and dessert quite splendid too. My husband couldn't imagine eating out in a non-meat environment but he too was bowled over.
This is a wonderful place and highly recommended for those people who like authentic Indian vegetarian food. Don't expect a plush restaurant though! But who cares about that when the food is this good! Thank God I have found a decent eaterie in Cardiff. I had virtually given up!

the food is nice, and service is good. however their starters is a rip off. they advertise that they charge a 10% service charge for eating in. ......

they advertise that their atom bombs are 50p to take out but to eat in they charge 10% on top of the price, so if i had 4 atom bombs + service charge that should be £2.20 correct? WRONG according to them 4 atom bombs is a portion and so they will charge doubble that of the price advertised for take out . so 4 atom bombs to eat in would cost me £4.40 but to take out only £2. its daylight robbery. when i tryed to tell them this they said the extra charge was for heating them up ??????? WTF!

It's is difficult to say anything about this restaurant other than to add to the glowingly positive reports from other diners already listed.

Cardiff has long been something of a 'blackhole' in terms of vegetarian and vegan cuisine and so this homely Indian restaurant serving the most delicious and authentic Indian food was our saviour. I have never been to India, but VFS serve the best Indian food I have ever tasted (and I have eaten quite a lot!) Everything is freshly handmade and absolutely filled with flavour.

The staff are really friendly and the fact that the place is usually packed with diners from the local area is testimony to the very high quality of the food. We recently took my boyfriend's mother for a meal and she loved it so much that she can't stop talking about it! The meals are also great value at around £10 per head for a full meal including a starter, bread and a drink.

This is definitely the best place for delicious veggie food in Cardiff! Sensational!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were very good about my friend bringing her guide dog. It's also such a pleasure to pick and choose from such a wide variety of vegan dishes. There was even a vegan sweet, but unfortunately I was too full to try it. The food was all excellent and very reasonably priced. During the time we were there several people who were obviously regulars came in and were greeted as friends. I'd definately like to go again soon.

The most fantastic food on the planet! The staff are the most friendly, helpful and happy people who are always willing to bring a "taster" from the kitchen to try. The price is extremely good and after several visits I've yet to eat something that wasn't absolutely delicious. The cheese dosa is the perfect lunchtime take out!

You really cannot fault this place. The food is fantastic, plenty of choice and very reasonably priced. The people are pleasant and efficient. You can even park nearby legally without having to pay.

What a fantastic restaurant. I have been visiting my mother and sister in Cardiff for many years and this is by far the best vegetarian/vegan restaurant I have ever been to in Cardiff. It is comfortable and modest in appearance, great website, lots of wonderful dishes, vegan lassie (what a treat!), lots of vegetarian sweets (none for me but I was too full anyway). Highly recommended. Taking my sister and her family out for dinner there again before I leave.

Three of us dined here tonight. We had a selection of starters followed by a selection of dishes from the "Traditional" Section of the menu with breads and a little rice. We shared and tried each of the dishes and drank a variety of tropical fruit juices. The standard of everything was excellent and the service was very friendly, helpful, and polite. After the meal we were unable to do justice to a dessert but spent a few minutes choosing some Indian sweets (all handmade) to take home and try when we have room. We left completely satisfied and feeling it was well worth the hour drive to try the place. The bill came to just over £12 per head. We will tell our friends and will definitely be going again.

Me and my husband visit this restaurant regularly.  The staff are very friendly and very helpful. As I am vegetarian and a diabetic, finding food in many restaurants is very difficult, but the staff in this restaurant are very accommodating and will cook you anything that you request without moaning or making a fuss. The prices are also very reasonable.

If you've tasted proper Indian food, then you'll appreciate the difference here - it's very authentic, delicious vegetarian food, and well priced. Although Chai wasn't on the menu, it was happily provided when we asked. The service was friendly, and when we couldn't decide between a masala dosa and the thali, we were given 2 mini masala dosas as a starter, with no extra charge. The thali was great and incredibly filling... would definitely come here again.

I recently travelled to Cardiff for business and was recommended to try the Vegetarian Food Studio just outside the City Centre by some collegues in Cardiff. The menu was very delightful, with a number of full meals and lighter lunches being served. The sweets and savouries served from the open counters are mouth watering. I tried a "Gujurati Thali" that consisted of a curry of the day, starter, sweet dish, rice and a lassi - all for just £4.99. All served in a nice friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended (a stones throw away from Millenium Stadium too)!

Feature your restaurant.
