Calum Tait (Scottish Borders) wrote on 25 October 2009 Excellent food, pleasant staff and reasonable prices. I would recommend the Vegan thali wholeheartedly. Hannah (Bridgend) wrote on 25 November 2008 Recommended! I ate here on a Friday night. I did not make a reservation, but the restaurant was very busy & I saw other people were turned away. It has a great atmosphere & is beautifully decorated. I ordered the Vegan Thali. I had to wait 45 minutes for my food. The menu does not specifically indicate any other items that are vegan. Drinks were very expensive & in small glasses. The food was delicious however. Nutan Thaker (Restaurant Connection) wrote on 15 May 2008 we have been living in Edinburgh for last 15 years and the best vegetarian indian restaurant we enjoy having is at Kalpna, we have had visitors from India resently, whom we had taken for the first time to the restaurant Kalpna, who were so impressed with good food, quality of the service was excellent we had taken them back at both times to eat different variety of foods served at lunch time and the prices were very reasonable for our guests from india. who have said , that when they come back again to scotland, kalpna is the restaurant for them, as they are vegetarians. Viren Thaker (Edinburgh) wrote on 12 May 2008 Absolutely wonderful! Susan Faulkner (East Lothian) wrote on 15 March 2008 We found the staff friendly and attentive and the atmosphere relaxed and as a fussy vegetarian I found the food very tasty, not your stereotypical greasy, heavy indian food which we have sampled in many restaurants in the past. My non vegetarian boyfriend also found the food very pleasing and we have visited the restaurant on may occasions with the standard of food and service never slipping from the previous visits. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, very reasonably priced too. Amit Roshan (Cambridge) wrote on 10 January 2008 Very disappointing. Diane Wright (Edinburgh, UK) wrote on 7 December 2007 Delicious home-made Indian food with lovely dosas. Menu features the dishes you'd expect to see plus some more unusual ones. The kulfi is lovely for dessert. The quality of the food is fantastic. The decor is quite plain, but with food like this, who cares.... The menu represents very good value for money. |
