My girlfriend booked us a table in this most amazing vegetarian restaurantin The KumQuat Mae in Nether Edge, S7. The restaurant isn t much to look atfor the outside, but the foods makes up that. The Starters cost £4.95 eachand Main coarse £12.50. It may sound a lot, but if you visit this restaurantyou'll know it s worth every penny. The food is to die for. My girlfriendhad Halloumi as a starter which absolutly beautiful. For main coarse she hadMushroom with blue cheese tart. For desert she had Raspberry bread butterpudding with Baileys custard. I had homemade Houmous with Bruschetta andsalad with olives. Mouth watering. For main course I had Braised Fennel withvarious beans and lemon dumplings. Absolutely brilliant! And desert was Darkchocolate cake was mouth watering.
For meat eater to enjoy a vegetarian meal as I did this restaurant is a must!
All the dishes are vegetarian and some dishes are available in vegan. The only downside that the restaurant doesn t have a license to sellalcohol. But next door and down the road are off license...

The guy from Norwich - Why did you write a review? I don't know a single soul in Sheffield who would have a bad word to say about this restaurant - well priced, fresh, varied menus, nice range of puds and starters (which can be left wanting in some places!) and a really friendly chef/owner who lets you sit back and get on with your evening without asking you constantly if you need anything else... She'll close when the last person is ready to go! Perfect for small parties, as a meal out with your mates or a casual midweek dinner with a partner... When I had just left uni, I frequently ate here, due to the price and the atmosphere - Now I have more cash to spend, I'll still spend it here when I need to relax and enjoy some really great vegetarian food...

Scruffy and dismal looking restaurant in a run down part of town. Not very inspiring! The equally scruffy teenage boy who was 'front of house' was no more inspiring as he shouted through to the kitchen "some bloke here wants a table". This is the kind of old fashioned bottom of the market hippy type restaurant that gave vegetarian restaurants a bad name years ago. Give it a miss!

Absolutely fantastic - friendly open staff and a low key relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel like one of the family. First class food and first class cd collection - this is a night you'll never forget. Don't eat breakfast (or lunch) - these portions are LARGE! A really great restaurant as well as a honey pot for the local boho set. Top marks.

Great food, interesting changing menu, in a small relaxed atmosphere. No alchohol licence, but there's a shop next door that can sell you a vegan bottle! Don't leave until you have tried their homemade Homous and Olive platter...

There is a set menu plus a specials board. The savoury stuffed pancakes are a favourite as is the aubergine stuffed with marinaded tofu dish. The Gumbo from the specials board is also going well at the moment. All dishes are accompanied by fresh vegetables of the day. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and the main area is smoke free. The restaurant is not licenced so you are welcome to bring your own. Most credit and debit cards are accepted. The price of a three course meal is £14.40p.
