Cafe Iguana 11 St Mary's Butts Telephone: 0118 958 1357 Web: www.cafeiguana.co.uk E-mail: iguanacafe@cafeiguana.com OPENING TIMES Fully Vegetarian International Vegan Organic Jazzy Jeff (Reading, UK) wrote on 24 January 2008 I've been in a couple of times in the afternoon, it was quiet but the service and food were great. Friendly staff. Would recommend! Ben Cox-Smith (Restaurant Connection) wrote on 14 October 2006 Obviously as I work for at the restaurant I'm not going to write abad review, but I wouldn't even if I didn't. I've worked here for fiveyears and have seen some enormous changes for the better - several reviewsI've read on the internet from a few years ago have commented negetivelyon the service and smokey atmosphere - however we are now non-smoking andthe service has improved no end. In fact, one of our waitresses hasrecently won Reading's Customer Service of the Year award from a list ofover 150 nominations! If you haven't been before or have been dissapointedin the past, give it another go - you'll be very pleasantly surprised! Trevor Weeks (Hailsham) wrote on 4 September 2005 Although the cafe is quite basic, its meals are far from that! The opening hours are good. The meals are a little pricy but this would not stop me going again, to such tasty vegan food. In this cafe v is for vegan not vegetarian. Please don't close. PS It is now a non-smoking cafe! Katherine Lapsley (Restaurant Connection) wrote on 12 November 2004 Obviously I am biased, but I think the food here is excellent - the fact you can watch the chefs prepare it for you makes it all the better. The majority of it is freshly made to serve, and the service is for the most part excellent. Obviously when you have new people starting it, or when the food is freshly made (as stated on the menu) it can get slightly slower but everyone works together as a team in order to provide great customer service. Also, the majority of the restaurant is now non-smoking, so it is rarely 'smoke filled'. The bar upstairs offers a great list of cocktails and shooters, and organic beers and wines. There is live music every weekend and the atmosphere is so laid back and relaxed, quite possibly the friendliest and most personal bar in Reading. Graham Sutton (Caversham) wrote on 21 July 2003 It is shocking that Reading has only one vegetarian restaurant and even more a shame it is this shambolic smoke filled den. When I have eaten there the food has been good but the service is desperate. But it is the smoke that totally ruins it, even in the daytime - I have walked in and immediately out several times. Bex (Reading) wrote on 15 July 2003 Great atmosphere - much better since they have introduced no smoking areas. The services has improved and the new chef is great. The price of food compared to the rest of Reading is a god send. |
