Firstly, this is not a veggie restaurant. However, when I 'phoned to book & said we were veggies, I was asked "fish or no fish?" which gave me some hope that they understood that real veggies do not eat fish. There is no menu. You eat what you are given - the only choice being which flavour sorbet to have afterwards, and what drink to have. Starter: Baby sweetcorn & other veg bits in tempura batter, and wanton wrappers stuffed with mushroom & coriander then fried, with 3 dipping sauces (soy, sweet chilli & hot chilli) - lots of it. Main course: Big pile of sticky rice, dish of sweetcorn sliced with green beans, garlic, galangal & chilli in a sauce, another dish of pak choi in veggie 'oyster' sauce (mushroom, not oyster based), big heater thingy of wonderfully fragrant coconut, mushroom & vegetable soup with galangal & lemon grass. We were offered refills as soon as our plates neared empty - we didn't need any. The menu changes often - special requests such as tofu are welcome if made in advance. Kitchen is run by Thai wife of English guy who runs front of house. Set price 3 course menu is £24.50 incl coffee. Strongly recommended - not a hint of fish, meat or 'shrimp sauce' in our meal.
