Friendly staff and good honest down to earth food. The menu typically includes a nut roast & gravy, quiche, baked potato with fillings, vegetable or bean curry, beanburger and spinach cheese and potato pie, some of these come with either baked potato or salad. They also do a selection of cakes such as chocolate brownie, flapjack and a fruit crumble. Prices are very reasonable and you can also buy items to take home from their freezer. Access is poor for those who are unsteady on their feet or who have buggies as it is in a basement, and as such can be a little dark and gets quite hot in the summer. There are a number of vegan options and they try and use organic products as much as possible. I have eaten here many times.

Very good value for money. Could do with larger lunch time meals, more variety, and more vegan options, specially with the puddings - why have a vegetarian chocolate pudding when you can have a vegan one! Otherwise the food is always very good and the staff polite, friendly and accommodating. They also do special evenings at Christmas etc and you can book the room for special meals for clubs etc with advance notice at great value.

Honest straightforward food, varied, tasty, interesting, very fair value. A local eatery even for non-vegetarians, it's so good. Standard lunch dishes around £5. Good traditional sweets (eg apricot crumble). The best flapjacks in Lewes. Some dishes available to be taken home (frozen in packs). Always busy around lunchtime but you normally don't need to wait long for a table (if at all).
