My curry had hard peices in, when I complained I was told they were lentils and they were meant to be like that.

Halli Restaurant in Leicester is one of the must visit restaurants in UK. I visited this restaurant more than 20 times since it opened and will keep visiting. Halli got a wonderful array of dishes which can cater to any kind. The service is excellent and you can't get such authentic south Indian dishes at this price anywhere in UK. Recommend this restaurant to all curry lovers.

Wonderful, friendly and sizeable restaurant that can cater for a table for two or large groups. For starters, we had Halli Mix Pakoda (onion aubergine, carrots, chillies fried in a gram flour batter) and Gulla Podi (aubergine puffs fried in a thin seasoned batter). Main course was Chenna Masala (tender chick peas cooked in a tasty tomato and light masala sauce) with boiled rice and Beetroot Sasami (beetroot cooked in yoghurt with green chiliies, curry leaves and mustard seeds) with Kobbrianna rice (basmati rice tossed in a deep pan with coconut, peas, urad dal and mustard seeds). Also managed to squeeze in Jaggerry Dosa (golden pancake smothered with warm cane sugar) for dessert. The huge Dosa for main course looked worth a try too! The staff were very friendly and were more than happy to provide advice to those not wholly familiar with South Indian cuisine.
