Since writing my review a year ago, I must agree with the previous reviewer that the menu has now changed and fewer options are available for vegetarians. There is hardly anything for vegans. It's still a good place to take children on a warm Sunday in the summer - shady benches outside with a climbing frame - unfortunately there are so few choices in this area.

I was extremely disappointed with this restaurant in terms of vegetarian and vegan cooking. Whilst the food is wonderful, they do not cater especially well for vegetarian or vegan diets. The menus do not state which dishes are suitable for vegetarians or vegans. I asked the person serving our table whether the cheese used in the baked field mushroom dish was suitable for vegetarians. She did not know and went to ask the chef. The answer was not very encouraging, "We use full fat soft cheese. Will that be alright?" In other words they didn't know. I suspect that their awareness and knowledge of vegetarian and vegan diets is not good. Aside from that, the building itself is lovely and the food is particularly good.

In the vegetarian desert that is Surrey, this restaurant is a welcome relief from having to cook for myself or go Indian. It is part of a small chain, but forget that and go and marvel at a choice of at least six if not more veggie main choices. The food is fresh, the place is busy, service good to variable but what the hell? They do a Gold Card for a fiver, which entitles you to discounts on food (not available Sundays, their busiest day). They also like you to email with comments and always reply. I have been seven times in as many weeks and only had one bum meal. Everyone with me on all those occasions was very pleased with their food. Children's menu is good too - my daughter is veggie - and they provide a balloon and crayons. Outside there are some teak tables and chairs. Meal for three adults with drinks after discount £34.
