This is a special occasion place - a Tudor hunting lodge favoured by Henry VIII - and we went here for the first time last Boxing Day. There was a vegan and three veggies in our 8 strong party. The room was gloriously decorated with huge real candles and crisp linen and our meals were spectacular. I was so impressed, I joined their Platinum Club - for £120 per year you get half price meals and other benefits. I have dined here about eight more times now and my vegetarian food has been among the best I have eaten. The service is impeccable and Head Chef Daniel James does the hotel proud. It's expensive, but worth every penny.
