One of those 'old school' veggie places that seem to be getting replaced in most places by smarter looking ones that only serve out 'slop'! A great place to eat, with friendly staff and perfect, market fresh veg cooked so that they keep their colour and shape... I go in every Saturday, and have a main (Red Dragon Pie a favourite!) and a pud (too many to say which is best!) and of course, an organic lager... Well priced and varied menus mean you will never leave poor or hungry!

Lovely atmosphere (original paintings for sale on the walls) and great food. The menu always includes several vegan dishes. Open for evening meals Thurs-Sat (7.30-10.30) and most dinner times - it can get quite busy on market days. A recent meal for two (starters, main meal & sweet, plus coffee for one but no alcohol) came to £22.90. We opted for the side plate of veg this time, but the selection of cold side salads is always very good. I had mushrooms in garlic cream & wine (starter), aubergine crumble and the (delicious) walnut and coffee cake, while my partner had hummus and garlic bread, Chinese style bean balls & vegetables, and apricot cheesecake. The best praise I can give Eating Whole is that Penny's cooking was one of the reasons I decided to become a vegetarian.
