This is the best restaurant that we have found in the Lake District, the choice of Vegan Dishes and Wine is great. The quality of the food cannot be faulted, the dishes are very well presented, they taste as good (or better) than they look. The restaurant is very friendly, the service is excellent. Some may consider that the cost of a meal may be higher than some establishments - as in life you get what you pay for. We would rather pay for a quality meal that you enjoy and remember rather than poor quality one which is best forgotten. We would recommend this restaurant to any Vegans (or Vegetarians) who enjoy fine food.

My boyfriend and I went here last year while we were on holiday.  Being both vegan it was good to find it. We weren't sure whether they served vegan food but when we got there, there were quite alot of options for us already on the menu.  The service was really good, very friendly staff who looked after us, sat in the comfortable lounge and got brought some finger food before the meal. The food was really good and big portions yet the prices were quite high.... well for us maybe as we're only students.... but it was well worth it to finish off our holiday in the Lake District nicely. We also experienced a divine banana and almond hot sponge cake which we shared for dessert which I've been trying to recreate ever since, totally vegan as well! Brilliant. The only down side we had was the fact that the tables were so close to one another so everyone could hear everyone else's conversations - which didn't help when people found it interesting (in an annoying way) that we were vegan so kept turning round and staring at us as if we were aliens when the woman came to talk to us about our options!!

Top quality restaurant we would visit more often if we lived closer. Comfortable lounge area to peruse menu and enjoy a sherry/brandy. Cosy restaurant with excellent service, and decent linen/table settings. Food is fabulous, creative, well presented and tasty. The sort of class that would convince a non-vegetarian that vegetarian meals are worth enjoying at least once in a while. Only drawback is the price which, while not excessive (£20-£25 per head for 2 courses and at least a glass of wine), is certainly pricey enough to make those on a budget think twice. The quality of the food and service is definitely worth it if you can stretch the budget.

Fantastic food at reasonable prices - around £8-£9 per main meal. A delicious description of the food is given in the menu, using a wide variety of ingredients. The service is also excellent.
