Wessex Tales Vegetarian Restaurant 20 Ashley Road Telephone: 01202 3098696 Web: www.geocities.com/vegetarian_restaurant E-mail: timwest@onetel.net.uk OPENING TIMES Fully Vegetarian International Vegan Organic Alison Parr (Somerset) wrote on 30 March 2008 This is a really good restaurant, we had Lancashire hot pot with onion bread, it was fantastic and as we are originally from Bolton, high praise! Also had a cashew roast with all the trimmings, sticky toffee pud, orange choc Tart, and Hot chocolates, really good value at £23.00. Nice atmosphere, good music and very pleasant helpful staff. Wish we lived nearer as I would definitely go again. It is the sort of place you would have confidence taking family and friends to, vegan or not, you know they would enjoy the food. Leo Garcia (London) wrote on 2 March 2008 Fantastic place which serves good quality vegan food. The lady who runs it is friendly and chatty, which helps add to the pleasant and cosy atmosphere of the place. The food is filling and well made and the menu is wide enough to allow for repeat visits. The background music is also enjoyable, ranging from Morrissey to Celtic folk music. In terms of price, it's not particularly cheap, but it has to be considering that all the ingredients are vegan and GMO free. As a vegan, I'd rather pay more to have a wide selection of good food than pay less and have something boring. Highly recommended and would visit again. Linda Savage (Bournemouth) wrote on 19 June 2004 All dishes are special because they are so good, the atmosphere is so friendly and casual or romantic if that's what you are looking for, the prices are so cheap for the food you get - I would pay more but I won't tell them that! I have tried most of their menu and cannot decide which is my favourite, the nut roast or the tempura with salad and rice - yummy. Four people - with drinks and coffees - came to £38 - how do they do it? Stacy Burage (Bournemouth) wrote on 7 August 2003 Licensed to serve beer, wines, and spirts. Menu: masala dosa, tempura, chinese sweet 'n sour, curry, nut roast, salad & pate combo, superb vegeburger and chips, mouth watering onion-herb bread with garlic mushrooms, chocolate cake to die for, tofu cheesecake, many different flavours of vegetarian and vegan ice creams, apple crumble, and many more. The atmosphere is informal and welcoming and the service is very friendly and efficient. Prices are low and the food quality is easily the best I have tried anywhere. The staff are all dedicated vegetarians and vegans. |
