Wai Kika Moo Kau 11a Kensington Gardens Telephone: 01273 671117 OPENING TIMES Vegetarian: Fully Vegan: Options Organic: Unknown Varied Cafe Menu - International Valerie (Horsham) wrote on 10 August 2010 After having decided to leave my teenagers to shopping, I treated myself for lunch... Walked passed Wai Kika Moo Kau and liked the fresh look of the food that was on the terrace. The staff were very efficient and polite, BUT the food was absolutely delicious!!! I had a fresh juice and the falafel in a wrap... So fresh it made me feel healthy before even touching it! The best bit was when my teenagers all came and sat and had a quick drink, they all tried the chips that were on my plate and all said they were the tastiest chips they had ever had! THANK YOU for a lovely break in a heavy schedule. Sarah Nunn (Tunbridge Wells) wrote on 28 June 2010 Probably the best veggie restaurant for miles. Last Friday lunchtime, I sat and watched my normally-fussy daughter sit in blissful silence as she rapidly demolished an enormous plate of veggie cheese-burger and chips. Apparently, it was "the best veggie burger she'd ever tasted". Chris (SE London) wrote on 3 February 2010 my girlfriend & I stumbled across this place whilst en-route to our intended eatery and decided to pop in and give somewhere new a try instead, and are we glad we did. We found the staff very friendly & helpful, the wait time was minimal and the food - well - the nicest bangers and mash I think I've ever had. As a vegan I never expect miracles when eating out, but their red wine & onion gravy they put on top of the generous portion of mash & 3 sausages was exceptional to say the least. KMG (London) wrote on 22 July 2009 I love this place!!! I'm a vegan and have been to a lot of vegetarian restaurants in London and Brighton, and this place knocks the rest out of the water. Sarah (West Sussex) wrote on 27 May 2009 Like Charlie, we've always loved visiting this place - great flavours, imaginative menu, good service and generally good feel. However, after visiting for lunch today, we left disappointed. The menu is definitely not as good as it used to be. My husband wanted a burger, but couldn't find the one he remembered having before, or anything which particularly appealed to him, and ended up ordering the veggie breakfast. Admittedly he didn't have the tomatoes, which I've since read in reviews is the best bit of this meal, but he asked if he could have halloumi instead. The waitress (who admittedly had a language problem) said they didn't have any - although this was included in more than one dish on the menu. The service was ok, but when I came out of the loo to tell them the light bulb in there had just blown, it seemed like they weren't that interested. They didn't say "sorry" or "thank you", although they did go and check. All in all, this is no longer our first choice when in this area of town. Johnboy (Liverpool) wrote on 25 March 2009 Wandered into here on the weekend,,,, say the aboard outside which said veggie and vegan breakfast for £5... I must admit it was dam lovely... being a vegan the chance to eat a vegan breakfast on my travels is a great thing! waited about 10 mins which wasn't too bad! Would recommend a visit! :o) charlie (essex) wrote on 14 December 2008 First visited wai kika moo kau 2 years ago and was very happy with the food and staff, very child friendly but nothing good lasts forever, eat with my family in october 2008 and was not happy. Was made to wait 40 minutes for our meal to be told that they had run out of the food which we had ordered, my two small children , very hungry and restless, had to wait another 20 minutes for chips, a waiting time of one hour for chips. Steve (Brighton) wrote on 28 May 2008 No longer exclusively veggie. Apparently it's not as profitable if you don't sell meat products. Rory George (East Sussex) wrote on 12 December 2007 Found this place by accident. Really friendly staff and laid back feel to the place - definitely not part of a chain. Food was amazing - best veggie burgers I've ever tasted and even had home made vegan cakes that were to die for. Mains were good value at around £6- £8. Had vegan wine too. Will definitely be back. |
