After having decided to leave my teenagers to shopping, I treated myself for lunch... Walked passed Wai Kika Moo Kau and liked the fresh look of the food that was on the terrace. The staff were very efficient and polite, BUT the food was absolutely delicious!!! I had a fresh juice and the falafel in a wrap... So fresh it made me feel healthy before even touching it! The best bit was when my teenagers all came and sat and had a quick drink, they all tried the chips that were on my plate and all said they were the tastiest chips they had ever had! THANK YOU for a lovely break in a heavy schedule.

Probably the best veggie restaurant for miles. Last Friday lunchtime, I sat and watched my normally-fussy daughter sit in blissful silence as she rapidly demolished an enormous plate of veggie cheese-burger and chips. Apparently, it was "the best veggie burger she'd ever tasted".

After spending far too long trying to decide from the many delicious-sounding options on the menu, I plumped for the halloumi pitta pockets and was not disappointed - they were to die for. Plus, the chai shake was probably the most delicious thing I've tasted in years. I didn't really *need* the second one, but it didn't stop me ordering one and glugging it down :-)

The atmosphere was very laid-back and relaxed and the service was spot-on. Staff were friendly, we didn't have to wait very long for anything and prices were very reasonable - especially considering the portion sizes which were very generous.

We shall not be leaving it too long before we go back to Brighton ... even if it's only for lunch. Oh - and one of their T-Shirts, too. :-D

my girlfriend & I stumbled across this place whilst en-route to our intended eatery and decided to pop in and give somewhere new a try instead, and are we glad we did. We found the staff very friendly & helpful, the wait time was minimal and the food - well - the nicest bangers and mash I think I've ever had. As a vegan I never expect miracles when eating out, but their red wine & onion gravy they put on top of the generous portion of mash & 3 sausages was exceptional to say the least.

Didn't have room for the apple & cinnamon crumble but will make sure I do next time, and there will be a next time.

Thumbs up big time to this place.

I love this place!!! I'm a vegan and have been to a lot of vegetarian restaurants in London and Brighton, and this place knocks the rest out of the water.

It's not as fancy as some places in Brighton, but I think that makes it more welcoming, a bit more like a cafe (it's only open til 5pm unfortunately, but great for brunch, lunch or early dinner)

The menu is vegetarian, with a lot of vegan options. The food is fantastially affordable - me and my friend had mains and milkshakes for under £20. All day breakfast is great, as is the tofu burger. Cajun sausage salad is a lovely healthy option with a twist.

Milkshakes are so good I want to move to Brighton to get one everyday. Fresh banana and fresh strawberry milkshakes are very highly recommended!

Vegan cake was nice, possibly a ittle oily, but great taste.

The service speed varies a little, but is never awfully slow - it's just down to the fact that the number of full tables varies hugely - and there are always one or two waiting staff - so they are either very attentive, or a little less so - but any practically minded person would understand this.

Overall this place is phenomenal value and great for vegan, vegetarian or meat-eater alike.

Like Charlie, we've always loved visiting this place - great flavours, imaginative menu, good service and generally good feel. However, after visiting for lunch today, we left disappointed. The menu is definitely not as good as it used to be. My husband wanted a burger, but couldn't find the one he remembered having before, or anything which particularly appealed to him, and ended up ordering the veggie breakfast. Admittedly he didn't have the tomatoes, which I've since read in reviews is the best bit of this meal, but he asked if he could have halloumi instead. The waitress (who admittedly had a language problem) said they didn't have any - although this was included in more than one dish on the menu. The service was ok, but when I came out of the loo to tell them the light bulb in there had just blown, it seemed like they weren't that interested. They didn't say "sorry" or "thank you", although they did go and check. All in all, this is no longer our first choice when in this area of town.

First visited wai kika moo kau 2 years ago and was very happy with the food and staff, very child friendly but nothing good lasts forever, eat with my family in october 2008 and was not happy. Was made to wait 40 minutes for our meal to be told that they had run out of the food which we had ordered, my two small children , very hungry and restless, had to wait another 20 minutes for chips, a waiting time of one hour for chips.
The menu is going down hill, less options, staff so laid back that the service is very slow.Use to be my 1st choice but now my last choice.

No longer exclusively veggie. Apparently it's not as profitable if you don't sell meat products.

Found this place by accident. Really friendly staff and laid back feel to the place - definitely not part of a chain. Food was amazing - best veggie burgers I've ever tasted and even had home made vegan cakes that were to die for. Mains were good value at around £6- £8. Had vegan wine too. Will definitely be back.
