my girlfriend & I stumbled across this place whilst en-route to our intended eatery and decided to pop in and give somewhere new a try instead, and are we glad we did. We found the staff very friendly & helpful, the wait time was minimal and the food - well - the nicest bangers and mash I think I've ever had. As a vegan I never expect miracles when eating out, but their red wine & onion gravy they put on top of the generous portion of mash & 3 sausages was exceptional to say the least.

Didn't have room for the apple & cinnamon crumble but will make sure I do next time, and there will be a next time.

Thumbs up big time to this place.

I love this place!!! I'm a vegan and have been to a lot of vegetarian restaurants in London and Brighton, and this place knocks the rest out of the water.

It's not as fancy as some places in Brighton, but I think that makes it more welcoming, a bit more like a cafe (it's only open til 5pm unfortunately, but great for brunch, lunch or early dinner)

The menu is vegetarian, with a lot of vegan options. The food is fantastially affordable - me and my friend had mains and milkshakes for under £20. All day breakfast is great, as is the tofu burger. Cajun sausage salad is a lovely healthy option with a twist.

Milkshakes are so good I want to move to Brighton to get one everyday. Fresh banana and fresh strawberry milkshakes are very highly recommended!

Vegan cake was nice, possibly a ittle oily, but great taste.

The service speed varies a little, but is never awfully slow - it's just down to the fact that the number of full tables varies hugely - and there are always one or two waiting staff - so they are either very attentive, or a little less so - but any practically minded person would understand this.

Overall this place is phenomenal value and great for vegan, vegetarian or meat-eater alike.

Like Charlie, we've always loved visiting this place - great flavours, imaginative menu, good service and generally good feel. However, after visiting for lunch today, we left disappointed. The menu is definitely not as good as it used to be. My husband wanted a burger, but couldn't find the one he remembered having before, or anything which particularly appealed to him, and ended up ordering the veggie breakfast. Admittedly he didn't have the tomatoes, which I've since read in reviews is the best bit of this meal, but he asked if he could have halloumi instead. The waitress (who admittedly had a language problem) said they didn't have any - although this was included in more than one dish on the menu. The service was ok, but when I came out of the loo to tell them the light bulb in there had just blown, it seemed like they weren't that interested. They didn't say "sorry" or "thank you", although they did go and check. All in all, this is no longer our first choice when in this area of town.

First visited wai kika moo kau 2 years ago and was very happy with the food and staff, very child friendly but nothing good lasts forever, eat with my family in october 2008 and was not happy. Was made to wait 40 minutes for our meal to be told that they had run out of the food which we had ordered, my two small children , very hungry and restless, had to wait another 20 minutes for chips, a waiting time of one hour for chips.
The menu is going down hill, less options, staff so laid back that the service is very slow.Use to be my 1st choice but now my last choice.

No longer exclusively veggie. Apparently it's not as profitable if you don't sell meat products.

Found this place by accident. Really friendly staff and laid back feel to the place - definitely not part of a chain. Food was amazing - best veggie burgers I've ever tasted and even had home made vegan cakes that were to die for. Mains were good value at around £6- £8. Had vegan wine too. Will definitely be back.
