Emma M (Newport Pagnell) wrote on 11 July 2009 Wow, what a fantastic place! My husband & I are totally blown away. The menu is huge and the food is incredibly imaginative. We've just had a take away and are so impressed we will be regulars from now on. I will be telling everyone about this place! Chris Z (Marston Moretaine) wrote on 11 June 2008 I love this place. They have everything any other Chinese would and it all tastes great. After turning veggie I knew I'd miss my crispy duck but now I have veggie world. They have a veggie version of most recipes. No more having to put up with soggy veg stir fries from other places. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere quiet which lets you have a nice relaxed talk. Price wise they are similar to other Chinese restaurants. P McKinnon (Kettering) wrote on 28 March 2008 An excellent lunch after a visit to Ikea-----the best quality vegetarian food cooked in an imaginative way. The chef was exceedingly friendly and we left with recipes and some ingredients! Andrew Stead (Milton Keynes) wrote on 5 January 2008 I have just returned from a meal at Veggie World and I must say I enjoyed it thoroughly. I had passed the venue in the day and thought it looked like a cafe and with that had never fancied it for an evening meal. Tonight however being on the post-Christmas health kick I did a search on the internet and veggie world came up as highly recommended so I thought why not. Upon entering the restaurant I thought it had transformed itself admirably from the daytime. It’s by no means a polished classy joint but the furnishings were in good condition, clean, and setout well. The lighting was also just right and it felt just fine. We were seated quickly and given well laid out menus and asked for drinks (from the non-alcoholic menu). My wife ordered a fresh fruit juice of orange and carrot, which was great. Our food order was also taken quickly and we waited eagerly. The first to arrive was crispy aromatic duck (veggie version) which was amazing. I am not a veggie but my wife is and we both thought it was great tasting meal. The presentation was just like any other meat version I have had. For the mains we had vegetable chow mein and a sizzling prawn dish. When they arrived again they tasted fantastic and the prawns looked so real its uncanny. We finished our meal and left feeling very full and definitely satisfied with a great tasting treat. The service throughout was great. All I can say is we will definitely be back and would highly recommend it to anyone who can cope with eating a meal without any alcohol flowing. Enjoy... Olivia Collins (Milton Keynes) wrote on 30 December 2007 I am sure there must be addictive properties in this food! This restaurant has far better quality food than ones I have tried in London. My fave is the satay scewers. Well worth a visit. Kim Scholey (North Yorkshire) wrote on 27 October 2007 An amazing restaurant, always go out of my way when I come down to London to this place. Good good, amazing range, can even get crispy duck (well fake) and staff very nice and happy to serve. Really nice to find a chinese restaurant that is veggie as sick of just just getting boring vegetables and rice in other places. Jane (Buckingham) wrote on 19 August 2007 Wonderful variety of dishes. Food loved by vegans, veggies & meat eaters alike. The veggie pawns are particularly good (I've never had actually pawns but told they are pretty authentic). Very large portions! Also, some of the sauces can be a bit rich & sickly; so be careful of how you combine courses. The Rabbit Buns are indescribable but delicious. They also do take-away which is boxed up so that it keeps hot for our 20min trip home. Staff always friendly, but wish they'd get a new music tape! Bruce Garley (Wellingborough) wrote on 11 July 2006 We have been going to Veggie World regularly for about 4 years now. The majority of the food is vegan and is always delicious. The menu is very imaginative, and there are loads of different combinations of food to try out. I didn't like Chinese food when I was a meat eater, but Veggie World certainly changed my mind! Jenny Millward (Milton Keynes) wrote on 24 May 2006 BEST veggie and vegan Chinese restaurant in the world!! A must for non-meat eaters and meat eaters alike - there is something for everyone. The staff are friendly and fun and you can take your own drinks!! Hayley (Sevenoaks) wrote on 4 May 2004 This restaurant is superb. It's definitely one of my favourites. They have a huge variety of food and it is all fantastic! Not only do they do a great Chinese menu in the evening but they also serve English style café lunches. The staff are really friendly too. Definitely one to take your meat-eating friends to as they can't fail to love it! Rob Massey (Leighton Buzzard) wrote on 7 April 2004 If you haven't been to Veggie-World... You haven't lived! Superb dishes (mostly vegan) and very friendly staff. Give it a go and try our favourites... Veggie "Chicken" Skewers (in hot peanut sauce), Veggie "Ribs" (in Peking Sauce) & Veggie Ji ("Chicken") Tomato. Standard chinese restaurant (or take-away) prices for fantastic vegan food. You can't go wrong here. Trevor Millward (Milton Keynes) wrote on 5 October 2002 Already been reviewed but this is simply one of the best chinese restaurants in sunny MK. The fact that if is fully vegetarian and has no misunderstandings over what vegans eat is the icing on the carrot cake ... errr ... so to speak. These guys also sell the main soya based ingredients they use in their recipes for cooking at home. T'is simply in a league all of its own. A 'must try' are the crispy veg-duck pancakes! Beth Brooks (Towcester) wrote on 24 March 2002 This is our favourite restaurant in the UK! The staff are incredibly friendly and the food is always DELICIOUS. They serve many mock-meat dishes, with the intention of introducing meat-eaters to a veggie diet. Their food is so flavoursome and imaginative, it's making my mouth water just thinking about it. We've had take-away about once a week since we discovered it. The menu is about 95% vegan. This food has to be tasted to be believed! Doug Blane (Milton Keynes) wrote on 10 February 2002 Formally Vegetarian Chef. Now refurbished, new looks, better atmosphere, still excellent food. It is now the place for vegetarians in Milton Keynes. |
