Reviewed in Cornwall Today's "10 of the Best" Vegetarian Restaurants in Cornwall, the author wisely stretching the county a little to include this gem of a restaurant in Plymouth. It is so refreshing to find classic regional cooking, instead of the standard Indian fare, churned out by Bangladeshi chefs all over the UK. Don't get me wrong there are some superb Bangladeshi chefs, but it is difficult for them to adapt their own style of cooking, to that of a specific Indian region. The food here is a real treat from Bombay, prepared by a Gujurati Family. The bonus is that Gujurat is the premier vegetarian state in India, so you get a combination of spices and cooking techniques suited to the vegtables that are being cooked not a chef, taking a sauce he has created for a multitude of meats and throwing a few vegetables in, to satisfy those weirdos that don't eat meat! As a "meat reducer" we really appreciate genuine vegetarian dishes and eating at this restaurant was a real treat; we will be making more detours into Plymouth on our way back home in future. Amy Taylor (Cornwall) wrote on 21 June 2008 I love going to Veggie Perrins! There is a huge range of dishes to choose from, each one as delicious as the next. Being a strict vegetarian myself, going to Veggie Perrins allows me to be confident that the food hasn't come into contact with any animal products. The service is always excellent and the plastic bags used for the take-aways are recycled, these are the little touches that make return time after time. The food is tasty and consistent in terms of quality. The prices are comparable to any other Indian restaurants in Plymouth. What a fantastic place!!! Chris Deacon (Plymouth) wrote on 15 February 2002 Good value lunchtime buffet. Full evening menu. Vegan options available. Inspired by Hindu principle of Ahimsa (non-violence to all creatures) as advocated by Gandhi. Hence, not even eggs are used in the recipes.
