V2GO 10 The Orient Telephone: 0161 747 2700 OPENING TIMES Vegetarian: Options Vegan: Options Organic: None Fast Food David (Manchester) wrote on 6 February 2010 This Place is horrible! I cannot believe they are selling Tuna, prawns... and now wait for it CHICKEN! Me and my wife who are TRUE vegetarians do not eat ANIMALS, its a simple concept to understand really. We were laughing at the fact it says "Healthy Vegetarian Food" above the shop, She said the words "Healthy" and "Vegetarian" should be removed to leave Food, nothing more. anon (anon) wrote on 11 January 2010 Glad to see other people being outraged at them now serving tuna and prawn whilst pretending to be a vegetarian place. The staff seemed amused that I would care, when I asked why they sold fish his response was 'some vegetarians and vegans eat fish'. I will never eat there again, though I imagine it's gonna be hard finding anything vegan to eat anywhere else in there. noor juma (bury) wrote on 6 January 2010 i have been to this resturaunt ( v2go ) quite a lot of times. i recoommend the food as scrummcious. the prices are cheap it is all halal and the staff are so very friendly. i recommend this resturaunt for everyone !! xx kim (Blackburn) wrote on 5 January 2010 I am appalled at the v2go takeout in the Trafford centre. This is meant to be a vegetarian takeout, however there were tuna and prawn baguettes available. This is appalling being vegan for animal reasons - it is totally unacceptable to have 'murdered animals' on the menu!! Any self respecting vegetarian / vegan should not go near this disgusting outlet. Suad Juma (Bury) wrote on 25 December 2009 I have been to V2GO many times. veganmanc (manchester) wrote on 18 December 2009 To echo what Loulou said, I went to V2Go in Manchester Trafford Centre yesterday. Not only did I laugh at the sign saying 'healthy' food when it was mainly burgers, chips, pizzas etc but nothing was labelled as vegan which is bizarre from a place that supposed to be totally veggie. But then again its not even veggie as it had prawns and tuna. None of the bagguettes looked vegan as everything was covered in cheese. And at those prices I would expect most veggies would just get a veggie burger at one of the other, cheaper, places. Loulou (Cardiff) wrote on 16 December 2009 I've been to this place in the past as it's been a handy place to get a quick tasty vegan meal. However, today I went and found they are serving Tuna and Prawn Baguettes but the sign above the outlet says 'Healthy Vegetarian Food'. Also in the past, they had a list on the wall of all the food and what was vegan, but this is no longer there, just the MsDonalds-style picture boards behind the counter with no mention of what's veggie/vegan. I'm really disappointed in this place and will probably never return, as it does worry me that they are serving fish under the title of 'Vegetarian Food'. Gavin (watford) wrote on 11 November 2009 The food was great, I ate there 3 times. The pizzas are tasty, the salads are fresh and the service is friendly and personal. The prices are very cheap. Also, it's very convenient. Cheap, tasty and friendly - what more do you want from a vegi fast-food outlet? Patricia (Yorkshire) wrote on 14 August 2009 I've just heard that it is no longer approved by the Vegetarian Society. faye (hull) wrote on 11 January 2009 Kinda rubbish to be honest. The staff didn't speak english very well and didn't seem to understand what I meant by vegan the first time I dropped by, I asked what was vegan and he just said everything. Then when I came back for food the guy went and asked someone else and just pointed at a piece of paper on the wall that said what the vegan options were. I ordered a vegan burger and wedges meal, which I got, I didn't feel very confident in it though due to the staff's apparent lack of being able to understand me or the term vegan. Anyway i got it and ate it, it was alright, I wonder what burgers they use because they tasted kinda weird and meat-like, I got my boyfriend to eat some though and he swore he'd know if it was meat. But part of me wondered whether the staff really understood or cared whether it was vegetarian or not. Anyway it was okay, I'd eat there again since I'm vegan and have very little other options in most places, but I wasn't remotely impressed. Especially considering it says 'healthy vegetarian food' above the counter, and most of the food is far from healthy. It's also non-organic. Omar JUMA (Restaurant Connection) wrote on 19 September 2008 the good news is that a major transformation will take place soon , the new menu is great , big focus on healthy food . new management will be installed and overall , you will feel the difference . Miles Newman (Lancaster) wrote on 4 September 2008 Very, very, very disappointing. My potato wedges had possibly been cooked three times - they had hard, crispy, dark shells and the insides were saturated in oil. Finger rolls were tough and rubbery. My wife's chips were partially cooked. Her veggie burger tasted meat-like and was undercooked. My wife had previously eaten at V2GO and told me it was very poor but because I saw the Vegetarian Society's logo displayed above the shop I persuaded her that the food would be good. Deanna (Stockport) wrote on 10 April 2008 V2GO started off ok, and over time went downhill. The vegan menu is a bit bland (the falafel are not at all tasty) and the burgers taste too much like cheap meat (vegetarian and meat eating friends both agree and could not finish their meals because of the taste) I have never enjoyed eating there, my friends hate it. The only thing I even remotely enjoyed was the salad. Dillyn Featherstone (Manchester) wrote on 15 March 2008 Everything there is delicious and my favorite is the Mexican burger. It is cheap and healthy and delicious. Zara (Old Trafford) wrote on 18 August 2007 What about vegan takeaways? Because I know Quorn is not vegan, anyone know any vegan takeouts? Steve Chicken (Bury) wrote on 5 November 2001 What a great idea. The only veggie "fast food" restaurant I've come across. Pricing very competitive with other fast food outlets, but fresh tasting, good healthy food. Favourites include Falafel Meal and Mexican Burger. Kate Whittaker (Restaurant Connection) wrote on 22 October 2001 Best dishes are: Falafel Mel; Quorn Pitta Meal and Mexican Buger Joan Walton (Rochdale) wrote on 17 October 2001 Quorn Pitta Meal and Falafel Meal. These two are the best on the menu, both excellent and good value for money. Mexican Burger is also a favourite of mine. Lucy Cooper (London) wrote on 16 October 2001 Really good takeaway food. Refreshing to find a healthy vegetarian option whilst out shopping.Fast efficient, pleasant service. And overall looked very appealing. Catchy nam. |
