Circle Restaurant High Street Telephone: 01672 539514 OPENING TIMES Vegetarian: Fully Vegan: Options Organic: Options British (International) Jo Kebbell (Guildford) wrote on 11 November 2009 I still use this restaurant when visiting Avebury. I had to waste a lot of my meal one time when the vegetables had been kept warm so long they had dried and curled at the edges, and the potatoes were dried up inside. Jo Kebbell (Guildford) wrote on 20 June 2008 The Circle is a haven for veggies in the village of Avebury. We are so often badly catered for so it is a real treat to have a vegetarian restaurant where we have a choice, and where there are vegan cakes. I hope it never changes. Cath Francis (Restaurant Connection) wrote on 19 February 2006 Thank you for your review Miss Lloyd-Jenkins. Could you make yourself known to either myself or Emma the next time you are in. We are still the same. We will not be going to meat as far as we know. We have added a few new products. I am always trying to source new veggie/vegan options. Thank you. Julie Lloyd-Jenkins (Newbury) wrote on 3 February 2006 This is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant with a difference - surrounded by the famous Avebury Village Stone Circle. It is presently run by the National Trust and has maintained its quality and authenticity so far (there have been rumours of it serving meat dishes in the future but the Lion pub around the corner takes care of these needs). Food served is delicious and imaginative with delicious home made soup such as roasted vegetable and mushroom and broccoli. Main menu items vary from stuffed squash, vegetable bake and pasta dishes as well as veggie sausages and burritos. Sandwiches also available including vegan options hummus and vegetable. Hot drinks and fresh coffee with soya milk available. But my favourite has to be the cakes, the vegan chocolate cake is divine! Prices are a bit higher than average - £3.50 for soup and £6ish for a main meal but food is organic and well prepared. I regularly go to Avebury and always pop in for lunch or a coffee and cake. The restaurant was closed for refurbishment 1st week of Jan 2006 (for around 3 weeks). Not sure how this will impact on the place when it re-opens. Catherine Francis (Restaurant Connection) wrote on 27 March 2004 Specializes in gluten-free, vegan, cakes and hot food. Main meals are around £5.95. Staff are very friendly and it is a grade 2 building in the World Heritage Site of Avebury stone circle. |
