Bean There 10 Wellington Road Telephone: 01262 679800 OPENING TIMES ![]() Vegetarian: Fully Vegan: Options Organic: Options Yorkshire jane crawford (tadcaster) wrote on 26 April 2010 after my first visit 3 years ago i was somewhat reluctant to return but under the new owners i dont know why i waited so long. lynn hardy (bradford) wrote on 20 April 2010 well first of all i cant beleave some of the negative comments i have read, I always eat at bean there when im in brid. The staff are very freindly, they always make a fuss and try there very best to please you. All the food is home made, with such a great choice it really is hard to pick. The home made bread is to die for, you really do have to try this place for yourself so u can see just how nice it is. u wont b dissapointed. becky clarke (hull) wrote on 29 March 2010 Had a delicous meal at bean there feb 2010 plenty of choice all looked great hard to choose, had a cheese, brocc and potato pie and mushy peas, mint sauce ,onion gravy then had to share a pud, blueberry bakewell and cream as portions are so large. As the owner said PROPER YORKSHIRE PORTIONS .exellant value for money no wonder there were so many local people eating a proper superb secret of Bridlington rebecca walker (derby) wrote on 7 June 2009 Very disappointed to find that this cafe has new owners who don't understand what being vegan means - it had to be explained. Extremely limited choice for vegans. I've never been to a veggie cafe that doesn't have soya milk but this one didn't! Gone are the massive slabs of gorgeous vegan cakes that the previous owners made - no vegan puddings at all in fact. I wouldn't bother coming here again. Roderick Thorp (Filey) wrote on 19 December 2008 My wife and I went there for lunch today. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming (on a bitterly cold day); the service was efficient and quick; the soup was tasty and filling, and we couldn't resist a pudding (though it was hard to choose). What's more, it was all very reasonable. We will certainly go again, not least to try some of the other puddings and cakes! And we are already thinking about friends who come to stay with us who would like it. The other advantage (for us) is that it is right next to the bus stop where we get off. Brilliant. Tamara B (Birmingham) wrote on 28 May 2008 We visited BeanThere a couple of years ago and really loved it. Even my meat eating husband is keen to return. There was a good choice of food and the puddings were delicious. My only criticism is that the opening hours aren't longer! Meg Thomas (Scarborough) wrote on 21 February 2008 Are you vegan or do you have any allergies? If so - beware - the meals labelled as vegan at Bean There (mushroom flan and salad, burger and salad, tomato bake and salad) were NOT vegan when we ate there yesterday. Ruth (West Yorks) wrote on 11 July 2007 Having been patrons of the restaurant for many years beforehand, we had our wedding reception and meal at Bean There in 2004. It was a suitably special venue on a very special day for us both. The owners and staff have invested a lot of themselves into making it more than just 'somewhere to eat' - consequently we have a lot of happy family memories associated with it, and hope to eat there again someday. David & Judy Fullerton (Leeds) wrote on 2 May 2007 We have been vegetarian for 21 years and this is definately the besteating place we have dined in within the UK (and we have dined in many!)Thestaff are great and the vast menu even better. Bridlington might not be themost obvious place to have excellent healthy, organic food but it is wellworth incorporating a visit to 'Bean There' with a bracing coastal walk. Sally (Restaurant Connection) wrote on 23 September 2005 Bean There is my favourite veggie food and watering hole. Not that I'm biased or anything because I design their leaflets but the Bean There Gang are absolutely passionate about their food, service and the environment. As soon as you walk in the door, see a smiley face and feast your eyes on the food, you know that at that particular point in time all is well in the world and it's good to be alive. My favourite dish would be the black olive tart served with huge portion of assorted salads. The homemade bread is just lovely and favourite puddings are too numerous to mention. Try it, you don't know what you're missing. Tony, Alison and Lucy McIntyre (Boston Spa) wrote on 22 September 2002 We've been there twice recently!!! Food excellent - spoilt for choice. Wholesome home- cooked good quality food. Staff are very friendly and the restaurant is child friendly. Our three year old really enjoys herself there. Excellent value. Sue Ainsworth (Llangollen) wrote on 19 January 2001 As a non vegetarian a visit to this restaurant/cafe has certainly changed my opinion and appreciation of quality veggie food. I found the grade 2 listed building very refreshing and welcoming. The owner/chef served the food and made my initial hesitancy as to what to choose from the vast menu a small detail. The menu is too vast to detail but all ingredients are organic, everything is home-made *you must try the variety of breads* and puddings to die for. The average meal ranged from £3 to £5. I was so impressed that after lunch I found myself booking a table for the Saturday evening, and the fact the cafe is a BYO made the evening a very affordable occassion. I am now a convert but alas I have not found anywhere to meet the high standards that Bean There offers. I now find many an excuse to visit Bridlington as I need to sample the menu again and again and again. |
