I was very surprised and disappointed to find that they now have a meat menu. They still have the old vegetarian menu which I grew to love and the food's still delicious but it's just not the same as the restaurant it was before.

I love this place! Huge selection of amazing veggie food, with almost all of it vegan. It's particularly special because of the delicious South Indian dishes, which are far from your usual greasy curries. Prices are very reasonable (less than a fiver for main courses) and, though portions appear small at first, you always leave satisfied and full! The staff can be a bit slow at times, but they are always polite and go out of their way to get everything right.

I visited midweek evening with a group of friends for my birthday in April 08. The restaurant was virtually empty, with no atmosphere. With the bright lights and rows of tables, it felt more like a canteen and would have benefited from dimmed lights and candles on the tables. We were greeted and seated by what appeared to be the chef - in full chef whites - very strange. The staff were friendly and service reasonable. The food was tasty and it was hard to choose as the menu is so varied. However, the food was served luke warm and on (traditional?) stainless steel tray-like platters, which were stone cold and made me feel like I was eating from a dog bowl. As a result, the food very quicky went cold and when we asked for regular plates, were told they didn't have any. The price was ok. I would visit again for a quick lunch whilst shopping, but would not return for an evening meal.

Value for Money- NO. A few pieces of indian cheese with so much peppers and onions- Disgrace.

South indian pancake arrived cold.

Disappointment.

We turned up late, but the staff smiled and showed us to our table. We chopped and changed our orders around because we were indecisive, they still smiled warmly and got the order correct. The food was excellently cooked and the variety of flavours and textures was a refreshing change. I'm not vegetarian, my friends were, but I will be taking other non vegetarians there soon because the staff, the atmosphere and the bargain price (£14/head including drinks lots of food and a healthy tip) made it an excellent evening!

Reading's first 100% vegetarian Indian restaurant is now open. Menu is very different from run of the mill Indian restaurants and provides a selection of authentic North Indian and South Indian dishes. Chefs are flown in from North and South India to ensure authenticity of dishes. Decor is modern and food... just delicious.
